"This is a shack facing west over the ocean. If you can be here at sunset you won’t be disappointed. This is simple food done to perfection. We had sea bass and chicken. To say the grill man is master of his art almost understates it. I have eaten grilled fish on the beach all over the world and this was the best I’ve had. He nailed the chicken too. He cooks multiple different fish and cuts or meats and does so at pace. Make a reservation at least a day ahead of time or show up and take your chances, you won’t regret dinning here!"

"O Choupana was the perfect end to our first day in VN Milfontes. The atmosphere at sunset was absolutely stunning …the kind of relaxed atmosphere authentically Portuguese without trying too hard. Watching the sun drop over the ocean while hearing the waves below made the entire evening unforgettable. The food was equally memorable. The tiger shrimp were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The sardines were another standout such a perfect classic Portugal coastal dish. And dessert completely finished the evening beautifully — especially the nata inspired dessert, which was such a perfect ending after seafood and wine by the water. A truly special experience that captured everything we love about coastal Portugal."

"The view is stronger than the food or the service :) the food was okay, except the vegetarian. That was not enjoyable at all. We waited quite a lot for our dinner, but at least we enjoyed the view of the ocean in the meantime."

"Incredible 10/10 dining experience. Went to lunch and immediately was in awe of the beautiful surroundings and the restaurant setting. You walk down a scenic staircase going into the open-air restaurant which has fresh fish and meats being grilled by a very skilled chef! Everything was delicious (favorites were the tiger shrimp, clams, chicken and the sea bass). Definitely worth a visit! Great service as well."

"What a place! Eating by the ocean over sunset was an amazing experience! My dad loved the massive grill on which they cook the fish! Definitely a must stop for a beautiful experience. It's not 5stars as I found they could improve the quality of the sides that come with fish as well as things as simple as the olive oil at the table. Quote proxy as well but you know... You pay for front row seat so, nothing to add!"

"Fantastic food with a great view and super friendly service. We had the sardines pate to start with and then a grilled seabass to share between two people. I also indulged in a fig and almond pie. I so wanted to leave a note for the woman who wrote a comment earlier stating that ordering by the kilo is "not their style". I suspect they don't eat in fish restaurants much"
